Current art and design thinking and practice, exploit and utilise images which create visual ‘pastiches’ as a means of communicating ideas. A new sense of order has evolved resulting in movements away from the machine to the information age. It has a “factual dimension” as its construct, which reflects many aspects of my work where technology is instrumental in the design process. Conventional wisdom is being questioned and consequently a new language is being formed in the visual arts. Lines of communication are becoming more complex and inter-connected. This necessitates the need to de-code these emerging messages, in ways which differ from the accepted interpretations of an image.
